Import / Export

 Clearance

  • Even there is no import / export duty, trader still needs to report to HK government about the imported / exported items detail;
  • Whenever shipping company or forwarder service is engaged, trader should ask for help to complete this clearance work;
  • For information about import / export declaration,
    please refer to [ Customs and Excise Department - Dutiable Commodities ];

 Clearance is missed

  • Hong Kong government will issue reminder - [ Sample pdf format ];
  • If the shipment is a transhipment, please mark item (b) and send the transhipment doc back to the government is fine;
  • If the shipment is not transhipment and ordinary declaration is required (but missed), the declaration still need to be done properly;
  • After declaration, there will be a Unique Declaration Reference no. Please fill in to the form and send back to the government department;

 Declaration procedure

  • Different forms apply to different goods (such as food, clothing etc.)
    - for detail, please refer to [ Customs and Excise Department - Dutiable Commodities ];
  • Online filing is encouraged. However, for non-frequent trader, maybe opening such an online filing account is not worthwhile.
    Online filing can be done via [ HKGCC Web CO Service ];
  • There is filing agents available who still accept paper declaration, such as [ HKGCC Web CO Service ] ;
  • Client is welcome to appoint us to complete the declaration work. Our service fee is around HK$500 + disbursement. Full set of shippment doc and info is required for us to complete the work;
